Easiest Way To Back Up Your Android Phone Or Tablet

Breaking or losing your phone or tablet sucks. But what sucks even more is losing all the precious data on your device.

Be smart and make a back up copy of all your important information and files. With a backup, you can easily restore your data to a new device and be back up and running in no time.

Backing up the data on your Android phone or tablet is actually really easy to do. While there are many apps that you can download and install that will help back up your data, these are the easiest ones.

With Google

The simplest and easiest way to back up your Android device is through Google using the built-in Android Backup Service feature.

To turn it on, go to Settings > Backup & reset, and make sure "Back up my data" is turned on. These are instructions for Google Nexus devices, but you can usually find the setting more or less in the same location within the Settings app depending on your specific device.

With Android Backup Service, the following settings will be saved into Google Drive for restoration later: Google Calendar, Wi-Fi networks and passwords, home screen wallpapers, Gmail, apps installed through Google Play, display settings, language and input settings, date & time, and third-party app settings and data.

Samsung backup

Samsung devices all come with their own backup service. To back up your phone or tablet through Samsung, you'll need to sign up for a Samsung account.

Once you've got a Samsung account, go to Settings > General > Backup and reset > Back up my data (under Samsung account) and then log in.

Inside, you'll see options to back up select data for Accessibility settings, Clock, Contacts, Email (Priority senders and Spam addresses), Messages and Phone. You can also turn on Auto backup, which starts an hour after your device is charging, connected to Wi-Fi and the screen is off.

LG also has its own backup feature built into its devices, which backs up "data such as LG Home screen, settings, apps and contacts" to the phone's storage, a microSD card or LG Cloud. If you get a new LG device, you can restore these settings easily without setting the phone up as new.

To access LG Backup on an LG device go to Settings > General > Backup & reset > LG Backup.

Manual backup

If you don't trust the cloud to store your data, you can always back up your files the old-fashioned way: locally to your computer.

To transfer files like music, photos, videos, and documents to your computer, first connect your device to a computer either through a microUSB or USB Type-C cable (on newer devices). On Windows, your Android device will show up as an external drive and you just need to drag and drop the files you want to transfer from it to your computer's hard drive.

Mac users will need to download and install Android File Transfer for their Macs to recognize their Android device; it's also a drag-and-drop process to transfer files from Android to a Mac.

Backing up photos

There must be at least 101 ways to back up your photos. You could use any number of free or paid cloud services like Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Flickr, Box and Amazon Photos (for Prime subscribers). Each one has its own pros and cons.

Our favorite is Google Photos, which lets you store an unlimited amount of photos at (up to 16 megapixels each) and videos (up to 1080p resolution). You really can't beat free.

According to a report, the company is testing more than 10 different prototypes for its next big smartphone.

One of the rumoured prototypes that is being tested is allegedly using an OLED display without any bezels and could be curved like Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge. It could also feature wireless charging, a feature that has been long awaited on the smartphone.

Apple has its tick-tock cycle for naming the iPhone, so technically the new iPhone should be called the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus. However, a lot of contradictory reports suggest that Apple could jump it this time and announce the iPhone 8.

It could also see a major design update since it will be ten years since the first iPhone was announced by Steve Jobs back in 2007.

New iPhones are usually announced in the first two weeks of September right before the holiday season. While there hasn’t been any hints about Apple breaking the tradition, so we can expect the annoucnement to be anytime during the first two weeks of September next year.

It will be an anniversary special though, so Apple could completely choose a different date, maybe even June 29, the same day the first iPhone was released.

How to Write Unique Articles for Publication as a Tech Blogger

Hopefully, this post will guide you on how to compose unique articles for publication on your blog as well as business website or even for the printing press. But before then let’s start by talking about what a unique article is.

Related Article: 3 Blogging Mistakes To Avoid As A Blogger

What is a Unique Article?

In a most basic definition, a unique article is any written piece that stands out from others. Putting things in perspective; unique articles are write ups which reflects your thoughts, experiences and suggestions.

For a tech blogger, a unique article could be a well-thought-out tutorial, how-to guide, DIY tips, top apps list and similar contents that are wholly centered on internet, electronic machines and gadgets.

One simple “rule of thumb” for writing unique articles is to never lift contents “verbatim” from either web or print when complementing your ideas in written form.

Reasons to Write Unique Articles as a Tech Blogger

how to write unique articles While we may agree with you on the saying that writing unique articles isn’t much easy, it is our view that the efforts you may have invested in writing unique articles is well worth it.

First reason you should shun plagiarism and write unique articles especially for online publication is the fact that big search engines like Google, Yahoo & Bing have an automated system that will most likely ignore duplicate contents when dishing out results for a search query.

What this means is that Google will normally not index your website or blog if their bots feel you copied from another blog or website. Even if the content is indexed by them, it would normally rank below the original sources.

However, skipping Google’s ‘hammer’ may not be the only reason to write unique articles as some people do use article spinners to mix things up and escape for the mean time.

But looking at things critically, do you think your potential customers as well as readers will trust you if they noticed you had used article spinners to write your contents? Yes they will most probably notice as the sentences may not add up correctly or so.

One more thing is the authority that unique articles command: It doesn’t matter if it is published online or documented offline, plagiarized contents will always have a poor command than unique ones.

Without further stories, let’s move to the key focus of this post- which is to show you how to write unique articles for publication as a tech blogger.

Tips to Write Unique Articles

1. Do intense research: Your readers (including search engine bots) really love it when you come up with something new and not what they have seen everywhere.

The first step in doing your research is to use tools like Google Adwords to know what people are really searching for and measure how much answers they’ve gotten for their queries. This will put you in the right mood to know what to write about.

2. Write based on insight: As a writer, your readers expect you to have a great deal of knowledge on what you are writing about. Having done your research, you should present your articles based on what you discovered not copied.

3. Write based on experience: You know an adage that says ‘it takes someone who has been to a place to show the way to that place.

When drafting out an article it should strictly be based on your personal experience with what you are writing about. For example, you can’t possibly draft out a unique review of Android Smartphone if you have no experience with the Android operating system.

4. Offer your opinion: As we said earlier, your readers want to read something new and fresh. For this reason, a unique article is one that reflects the opinion of the writer.

Your opinion about a thing may most probably differ from what another person thinks about same. If however both opinion is same there will definitely be a difference in the method of presentation.

5. Offer your suggestions: Having given your opinion about the topic under discuss, next is to offer your suggestions and recommendations.

This makes your content unique because your suggestions will most probably differ from the suggestions of another person or at least, there will be obvious difference in the method of presentation.
