How To Reduce Your Blog’s Bounce Rates

We already know that bad website design and poor content can deter your website visitors, but if you think that that’s all there is to it then think again.

It may be hard to believe but apparently lots of website owners and bloggers, especially those who are new, still miss the other minor but important factors in making your visitors stay longer and return to your site.

Bounce rate, in layman’s terms, is basically the number of single visits in your site that results in the visitor spending only a short amount of time and then leaving immediately, hence the term ‘bounce’.

Read Also: The (4) Factors That Can Kill Your Blogging Career

You don’t want your visitors to bounce off of your site, so below is a list of tips on how you can minimize that from happening.

Provide Easy Site Navigation – One thing that turns visitors off from a website is not knowing where and how to locate your site features. If your visitors have a hard time finding links to certain pages on your site, you can bet that the next thing they’ll look for is a way out of your site.

Being forced to search for buttons or links just to go to another page on your site can be as frustrating as having to search for the TV remote just so you can change the channel.

Minimize Ads – Do you know the feeling that you get when you have to sit through all those commercials just so you can watch your favorite TV show? That’s what it’s like for visitors when see all these ads and banners on your site:

it overwhelms them, Having too many ads on a website is a turn off for visitors and therefore a no-no if you want them to stick around longer.

Do You Know? You Can Increase Your Site Visitors/Clicks - Through Meta Tags Description

Make Sure You Have A Search Box – Believe it or not, some blogs and websites actually don’t have a search box feature, which is another no-no because visitors do use it.

It makes it easier for them to find what they’re looking for than clicking through a lengthy list of archive, labels, and categories.

Improve Your Site’s Loading Speed – Nobody wants to be kept waiting, and that includes your site’s visitors. Don’t test their patience by making them wait for your whole site to finish loading.

One common cause of slow page loads is having way too much widgets or plugins installed in your site. You could say that having too many widgets is almost as wrong as having too much ads on a website; one annoys the visitors while the other makes them wait.

Interlink Your Blogs Posts – To put it simply, provide links to your other [older] posts somewhere inside your articles. The way to do this is by referencing a topic that you have previously written about, which will act like a “Related Posts” link from within your article.

For example, if you were to mention “increasing website security by using a PHP script,” on your article and you have already written an article on said script, you can hyperlink the phrase “using a PHP script” to that particular phrase.

Good Day Friends, This is to get You Informed that MMM Nigeria, has presented Bitcoin, said to be the arena’s first-rate performing forex, in 2017, as part of its mode of fee in its comeback plans.

The Ponzi scheme, which froze debts of its three million participants on December 13, 2016, is getting ready to return, and it's throwing up a quantity of plans to get its neighborhood active once more.

Last week, MMM promoters, issued instructions to its participants whose accounts were frozen, to perform “Promo Tasks: A New Tool for MMM Community Development.”

In the MMM message, subscribers were told to perform tasks, both online and offline, to promote the scheme and drive “traffic and participation” by the time the restriction on the account is lifted.

Previous to the freeze of MMM, contributors were allowed to provide help in bitcoin, but they had been paid again in naira.

Nonetheless, MMM new plan allows contributors to get help in bitcoin, and watch their monies develop in bitcoin.

In a declaration to individuals, MMM said “as a result of the contemporary sharp price fluctuations of Bitcoin, MAVRO-BTC is being presented in the system.

“So far, we have only had Mavro-Naira in the system. Even though you provided help via Bitcoin, your Bitcoins, anyway, were recalculated into the Naira at the exchange rate at the moment of providing help, and you were credited with Mavro-Naira in your PO.

“It was the naira amount that grew. In other words, you received 30 percent a month specifically in naira (not in Bitcoins, although you originally provided help using Bitcoins).

“Now, you have a chance to have 30 percent growth of the Bitcoin amount, not the naira amount. So, acquire MAVRO-BTC which will be credited in your PO and will grow at a 30 percent monthly growth rate.

“And, what if Bitcoin price is going to fall? In case Bitcoin price might go down, you will be able to return to naira at any time — instantly convert your MAVRO-BTC into Mavro-Naira (and vice versa, if Bitcoin price might increase again).

“This option is available in PO. You can convert both confirmed and unconfirmed Mavro.

“We hope that with implementing MAVRO-BTC, your participation in MMM will become more comfortable!”

How to Start a Blog 2017 & Make Money Online

Blogging is a very popular topic these days, because it makes it easy for ordinary people to share their thoughts online. Here, I will guide you on how to start a blog and make money from it.

      Why Start a Blog?

A blog is a great marketing tool for businesses, but the popularity of blogging is largely because it also offers ordinary people the opportunity to become stars as well as make a reasonable living from their blogs.

Read Also: The Meaning Of A Blog? What Is A Blog?

However, beginner bloggers often do not get what it takes to maintain and make a blog successful. Some think it’s about publishing a few posts on their blog and seating back for the money to roll in.

Others think it’s all about copying other people’s posts or articles to their blog. But, neither of these strategy works, no wonder the mortality rate of blogs is very high.

You do not just start a blog today and start making money immediately. It takes time to build and nurture it. This is why it is important to know how to blog.

      How to Start a Blog

What follows is a guide of how to start a blog.

Step 1: Choose what to Blog about:

One of the first decisions you make after deciding you want to start a blog is to figure out what you will blog about. Some new bloggers fall into the trap of writing about everything that comes to mind.

Yes blogging is about sharing your thoughts, research, and experience, but if you are interested in professional blogging that thought must be targeted at a clearly defined audience.

Remember that one of the goals of professional bloggers is to build a reputation. Certainly, you cannot build a reputation on everything. You need to build a reputation on something. This is why you have to give a long hard thought on what you want to blog about.

Your blog should be about your interest and passion. It should be about a topic you are happy discussing. It should be about something you are passionate about. Passion is very important in blogging because it takes time and energy to build a reputation and make money from a blog and without passion you will certainly give up.

To discover your passion and interests you need to brainstorm. Ask yourself the following questions:

      • What topics do you regularly discuss about with your friends?
      • What are your hobbies?
      • The type of movies do you watch
      • What do you spend your money on?
      • The types of books and magazines you read?
      • What types of websites do you regularly visit?

Read Also: Three (3) Blogging Mistakes To Avoid As A Blogger

When picking what to write about, it is very important to choose a niche with a sizable audience. Do not choose a niche that is so unique that you are virtually the only person interested in it.

Step 2: Choose a Blog Platform

A blog platform is an online software that enables you create and maintain a blog. A blog platform offers you an easy to use interface for posting content to you blog. You can write, format, and edit your posts, as well as add photos and videos to your posts via your blogging platform.

The blog platform also creates an easy interface for customizing the look and feel of your blog. They also offer plug-ins and widgets for extending the functionality of your blog and making it more useful to your readers.

Although, you can switch your platform at anytime, getting it right the first time is very important. Switching blog platforms may require some technical skills. So, you should take your choice of blog platform serious.

I should know, because I had to switch this blog to another blog platform earlier this year and had to face a lot of challenges. So, I will advice you think long and hard when picking your blog platform.

I advice you pick to Blogger. Yes, Blogger was the blog platform I switched to earlier this year. I had outgrown Blogger (my former platform) and needed something more flexible and Blogger was it.

Blogger has thousands of plugins that you can use to add lots of functionality to your blog and offers the level of customization that no other blog platform offers. In addition, Blogger has a large community of users that can help you with any challenge you may run into.

So, I recommend that if you have plans to start a blog in 2017, Blogger should be your first choice.

To avoid confusion, the rest of this article will focus Here.

Step 3: Choose a Domain Name

The domain name of your blog is its central address on the internet, for example the domain name of this blog is www.howtosguide.com.

Here are some tips on how to choose a domain name for your blog:

Choose short memorable domain names – Some of the best domains are short. Think Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc, they all have short domain names. Short domain names are easier for your readers to enter in their browser address bar. Short domain names are also easier to memorize and good for branding. If you must go with a longer domain name make sure it is also memorable.

Add your keyword to your domain – If it is possible, add your major keyword to your domain name. So, if you blog about shoes, try and add shoes or a relevant keyword in your domain name.

Consider future expansions – When choosing your domain name you need to consider the future expansion for your blog. For example, if you are blogging about high-heels but have plans of covering all types of footwear in the future; put that into consideration when choosing your domain name.

Use a popular TLD – Top Level Domains TLDs are letters that end a domain name eg. .com, .org, .net. .com is the most popular top level domain and should be your first choice. You can also try .org and .net in that order.

Avoid using other people’s brand names and registered names – Avoid using business brand names in your domain or registered brand names. This will ensure you do not run into trouble tomorrow. For example, if you use a brand name of another business on your blog they can sue you to stop using their brand or even ask for damages. Remember, this may happen after you have put all the hard work to build the reputation of your blog. So, avoid brand names and registered names from the very first day. If you must use a brand name it must belong to you.

In the same vein, your blog name should be as short as possible, memorable, and avoid using other people’s brand names or registered names.

You have chosen your domain name for your blog, but the domain name does not become yours until you have actually bought it. Besides the domain you have chosen may have been bought by another person. So, you need to check for availability first.

To register a domain name, you require the services of a domain name registrar. At the website of the domain name registrar you can check for the availability of the domain name you desire and if the domain name is available, you can buy it.

You may also decide to buy your domain name from your hosting company, which I will discuss in the next step. Similarly, you can also decide the host your blog with the domain name registrar.

There are a number of good domain name registrars out there. I use GoDaddy (Click Here).

Step 4: Design your Blog and start adding Content

You should now log-in to the admin area of your blog and begin to tweak the design. The first thing to consider should be the theme to use for your blog.

There are a number of free themes that come with your Blogger installation. Just go to the Appearance > Themes section to pick a theme.

You can also go to sites like ThemeJunkie, ThemeForest, or Mojo Marketplace to buy a more professional looking premium Blogger theme for your blog. A premium Blogger theme can cost between $30 to $50 a pop.

While having a nice looking blog is great you should not focus so much on looks initially especially at the expense of building content on your site.

While you are designing a great looking blog you should also be adding great content on your blog. You need to learn how to write good content for your blog.

In case you are wondering what a great content looks like. Here is a brief characteristics of a great content:

      1. It is useful and have keywords in all the right places
      2. It must answer a question (or a couple of them)
      3. A Great Content must be unique
      4. A Great Content is easy to read and understand
      5. It includes images when necessary

It is also important to add new content regularly to your blog.

Once you get a number of posts and writings under your belt (say 10 or more), you should then register your blog with search engine webmaster tools (Google and Bing) and add tracking and analytics code (Google Analytics) to your blog.

These will help you get useful information about your blog as well as help your site get more traffic. Do not forget to open social media accounts for your blog.

This article is still a work in progress and will be completed soon.

Blogging is easy, putting Ads on your blog is also easy, the hard part is making money from your blog. Now let’s see what you must do to make money from your blog.

What it takes to make money from a blog

When you decide to start a blog, it is usually about making money. However, for a blog to make money, two ingredients are required. The first is reputation and the second is blog traffic.

To start a blog and make it successful, you need to know how to build a reputation for it.

You cannot build a reputation for your blog by copying other peoples’ work, neither can you build reputation if you blog about everything. Your blog must be known for something.

This is why you must take my recommendation in step 1 about how niche blogging is the best way to start a blog seriously. It is easier to build a reputation if you focus in a niche.

Can you define the purpose of your blog in one sentence? If you can’t, then your readers will find it hard categorising it. Building a reputation simply means making it easy for your customers to associate your blog with your content.

So that whenever they think about your niche they think about your blog. For example, if you blog about shoes or fashion, having a good reputation means that people looking for shoes or fashion ideas will have your blog on top of their mind as well as recommend it to friends.

The truth is that it takes time and hard work to build a blog reputation. So you need to be passionate about your niche to pull through. It will also take time to make money.

To build a reputation you need to offer unique, relevant, keyword rich, and quality content. You should post something new on your blog every day (or three posts per week), to keep it fresh.

Differentiate yourself from other blogs in your niche. In addition, open social media pages (including Google+) for your blog and engage with your fans actively.

Make it easy for your readers to engage with you by providing feed subscriptions, social networking shares buttons and like buttons. Building a blog reputation takes time and hard work, but gradually one day at a time your blog will eventually get there.

As for the second part, which is building traffic, it goes simultaneously with building a blog reputation. Good content is the greatest asset to invest in when you start a blog. Having unique, well researched, and well written content on your blog will keep readers coming back for more.

Have you ever wondered How? Take a few minuites And Read the following steps As I will show you how to easily create your own email address using your domain name.

      1. Purchase a Domain Name
In order to use a custom email address, you will first need to purchase a domain name. You can purchase a domain name from many hosting companies. I recommend the affordable and powerful Host Gator.

      2. Create Your Custom Domain Email Address
Since every hosting company’s backend is a little different these directions will be more generic rather than specific. You will want to locate the “Mail Central” section inside your hosting control panel. I have taken a screen shot of what that looks like in my hosting panel.

From there, if you have already purchased your domain name, you can create a new custom email address using your domain name. For instance, I have own the domain name www.howtosguide.com and my custom email address is Info@howtosguide.com

      3. Forward Your Email Address to Gmail
If your like me and you would rather use a familiar and powerful email service, then you will want to forward your emails to that location rather than use the email service provided by the hosting company.

Sign up with a free email service like Gmail. You will have to sign up using a gmail address. I signed up using howtosguiden@gmail.com. In your mail central settings inside your hosting control panel, there should be an option for email forwarding. Enter your new gmail address in this section.

      4. Setup Gmail To Use Your Custom Domain Name
In Gmail, locate the settings icon on the left hand side. Looks like a gear. From the drop down choose settings. From the settings page choose the “Accounts and Import” Tab. From this tab you will see the “Send Mail As” Section and here is where you will add your new custom domain email address.

When you are done you will be asked to verify by email in which they will send an email to your gmail and all you need to do is click the link they provide you. Head back to the settings area and make your new domain name the “default” email.

Easiest Ways To Get More Nigerian Followers on Instagram For Free

Instagram is the next big thing after Twitter and Facebook. For Nigerians, it’s a way to connect, reach out or even for business. But to explore Instagram to the fullest, there is a need to have more followers.

Read Also: How to Make Money from Your Facebook

There are many tips to get more followers on Instagram but I will only discuss 10 here.

1.) Use an appropriate profile photo
The type of profile photo you use has a long way to go on who follows your profile. A snake head, scary photo scares most Nigerians away.

      2.) Follow prominent Nigerian celebrities
They usually have many fans. All you need is a share of them. Mention their names, follow their fans and you can get a follow back.

3.) Link your Facebook account to Instagram account
Link your Facebook to Instagram and vice-versa. I have over 5000 friends on Facebook and up to 2300 are on Instagram. Most of my Nigerian Instagram followers are from Facebook because 80 percent of my Facebook friends are Nigerians.

      4.) Follow back
When people follow you on Instagram, simply follow them back. Many may likely unfollow people who do not follow them. More so, having a page where you follow people back, is a magnet for potential followers. Nigerians loved to be followed back on Instagram.

5.) Update on a regular basis
Don’t just check Instagram for gossips and pictures. Upload your photos too. Don’t make your Instagram dormant.

6.) Share your Instagram posts to Facebook and Twitter
When you post on Instagram, there is a share button to upload to other social media. This makes you to connect with other fans. Since your other Nigerian social media is full of Nigerian followers, simply sharing your posts will enhance your ability to gain free followers.

7.) Ask for a Follow Back
Ask and it shall be given unto you 😂. The rule applies here. Simply ask for a follow back. If you’ve followed a friend who is not following back, ask them to. You can gain free Nigerian Instagram followers this way.

8.) Unfollow people who are not following back
Imagine following 500 people and you only have have 50 followers in return. That’s bad for reputation. Simply unfollow those who are not following you. Nigerians are fond of not following back, simply unfollow them.

      9.) Participate in comments
Comments on other people’s post. Comments on trending posts and people of like minds can follow you. Nigerian communities usually have trending topics and posts you can follow.

Recommended Post: New Version of WhatsApp allows you to link your Facebook Account

      10.) Use of hashtags
Always use relevant hashtags. Trending hashtags like #Buhari, #Nollywood, #Bokoharam can get you Nigerian Instagram audience.

How To Register At Crowdrising Nigeria And Make Money Online

Crowdrising is one of the most popular online mutual fund portals in Nigeria, although relatively falling behind MMM Nigeria, and Ultimate Cycler, it is still getting huge attention by the mutual fund community in Nigeria. Their portal crowdrising.net is only some few months old and it is already the 122nd most visited site in Nigeria and it is also among the top money making pyramid schemes.

CrowdRising, is not a Company or a Business or a Corporation. The CrowdRising System is not owned by any one individual. CrowdRising is a semi-automated system created by 5 individuals, who are funding and Founding members, referred to as the 5 Horsemen.

The platform is made available World-Wide, free of charge. There are No Admin fees, No monthly fees, in fact, there are NO fees.

CrowdRising is a Person-To-Person Direct Funding Platform.

The system was designed in such a way that it can be used by Fundraisers, such as for Charities, Schools, Clubs, Churches, non-profits, family, and personal financial needs etc., etc. The donations are NOT collected by the Administrator, nor are they automated by the system, rather donations are sent directly and personally from one member to another member, from one member’s payment processor to another member’s payment processor.

Before you consider to send in a support ticket please go through the following material to confirm that you understand how the system works

Watch and share the following tutorials, which you will find on www.crowdrising.net before logging into your account, to learn how CrowdRising works, and how to set up your account. Be sure to ask your Referrer for help.

      How to Join

There are 2 ways to get involved:

      • This first one is highly recommended. If you have been invited to join, click on that person’s referral link and you will be instructed to fill out a simplified registration form.
      • In the event that you were not invited by family /friends then you can join by going to https://crowdrising.net/ and click on the Sign-Up button. You will then be referred directly by the Administrator and the system will automatically spill you down into the first eligible or qualified member’s genealogy.

      Is it a Ponzi Scheme?

According to Wikipedia, A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation where the operator, an individual or organization, pays returns to its investors from new capital paid to the operators by new investors, rather than from profit earned through legitimate sources.

Operators of Ponzi schemes usually entice new investors by offering higher returns than other investments, in the form of short-term returns that are either abnormally high or unusually consistent. CrowdRising Nigeria clearly possesses the features of a ponzi scheme.

      Can members be defrauded:

Just like other similar schemes like MMM, money does not pass through a central account or through any administrator, it is a member to member donation system which makes it difficult to abscond with members money. But discretion should be on high alert as the portal itself may be hacked or go offline which may lead to loss of fund.

      My Final Thoughts:

this review is strictly for information purposes only. Whoever is willing to take the risk of “investing” on any Ponzi scheme does that at his or her own discretion. But i still believe these online Ponzi schemes is better than sports betting as it affords all members to benefit from each other through donations.
