So, What is a Blog?
Blog, initially, was meant to be the online version of the personal diary in which we keep records of happenings in our lives. In the modern world, blog is now been used for several stuffs, ranging from internet marketing, tool for social change, tool for creating online presence etc.
A blog is a collection of posts/informative articles which can be accessed on the internet. It is an online platform where you can post articles about diverse stuffs. Anybody that visits your blog can easily comment on your posts, though such comments can easily be moderated, hence more interactive than a website.
Blogs are also easier to update with fresh contents compared with websites even with you not even having any knowledge about web design or HTML coding. The articles you post to a blog can be enriched with pictures, videos, presentations etc
With a blog, you can create an online presence for yourself and even open a branch office for your business on the internet. This, in no doubt, will take you or your business to the next level.
Anyone that visits your blog can read what you have to say and learn from it. For example, perhaps you love Designing Websites. You could put up a blog about web design and help to sell affiliate products for web designing, such as web design softwares or web hosting services. Using affiliate marketing, you can make a percentage of the price of any sale that comes from your blog.
You may later decided that you want to write an e-book on how to design a website. You can sell that at your blog, too, making all the profit from each sale of your Ebook.
Moreso, you can use Google Adsense on your blog. These small ads are placed on your blog and if any of your readers click on them, you make a small amount of money from it.
If you have a topic that you are passionate about, you definitely can start a blog and get to work making money from it. You do not need to be a web designer before you can start a blog and it is not only for men. There are lot of great women out there that are successful today as a result of blogging. You do not have to invest a lot of money into it. In many cases, you will find that the blog is free to get started, too.
Before you start a blog, take some time to consider a topic you are interested in, since this ultimately will determine the area which you will be passionate enough about to keep writing in. As you can see, my blog is resourceful, because I am blogging about stuffs related to technology and internet marketing which I am so passionate about.
With the help of search engines, you can get many articles online which you can always bring together to make your own articles. Hence, it is easy to update your blog with fresh content.
