The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the June/July 2016 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results.
The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NECO, Prof. Charles Uwakwe, who made the announcement at the Council’s national headquarters in Minna, Niger State on Friday, stated that 1,027,016 candidates registered for the examinations.
He said that 1,022,474 candidates sat for the examination, with 88.51 per cent of the candidates recording five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.
On the state by state analysis of the result, he disclosed that Ekiti State recorded the highest pass rate of 96.48 per cent while Katsina State recorded the least with 72.59 per cent.
On examination malpractice, the NECO boss said that 43,905 cases of candidates was recorded with 194 schools involved in mass cheating.
Prof. Uwakwe added that the results of candidates involved in various cases of mlpractice have been cancelled.
